Andrew N. Porter received his master’s license from the U.S. Coast Guard in 2004 and has been running commercial vessels in various capacities ever since. He worked as a water taxi captain in Boston Harbor during college and then spent a few years running private and commercial sailboats in the Caribbean. In 2009 he moved to Hawaii to attend the University of Hawaii's William S. Richardson School of Law. While in law school, Mr. Porter ran many commercial vessels including sightseeing tours, scuba trips, and sailing charters out of Kewalo Basin. He has also participated in many of the Hawaii Yacht Racing Association's around the island and inter-island races.
Mr. Porter’s extensive experience in the boating industry, both commercially and recreationally, gives him unique insight into the problems that arise out on the water. Mr. Porter understands how vessels function and the reality of working on the ocean. This understanding allows him to cut right to what is important without the client having to provide lengthy explanations or translate maritime terminology. This saves the client money while providing for a more focused effort in achieving the client’s goals.
